Visit The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Catechical offerings for the 2025 – 2026 academic year will be:
- Catechesis of the Good Shepard (CGS) – For ages 3 – 12
- The Gospel of John Bible Study and Discussion – Designed for ages 13 through adult
This academic year, read, discuss and learn about the Gospel of John as a Catholic Gospel, its context with the rest of the Bible and come to understand it as a literary masterpiece. The Gospel of John Bible Study class will take place on Sunday from 8:15 AM to 9:15 AM. Video recording will be available after the class.
- Catechism Dinner and Discussion Group - Designed for ages 13 through adult
Currently covering the Theology of the Body audiences by Pope Saint John Paul II. This group has previously covered the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Christ our Pascha and will continue to cover catechical books and discuss them. The discussion group typically meets at 6 PM in the social hall on Friday.
- Catechumenate Classes – Designed for adults seeking to come into the church
The catechumenate class this year will follow the Becoming Byzantine lecture series and supplement that with readings from the Light for Life catechical book series and the Face of God by Archbishop Joseph Raya. The catechumenate class will be taught by Fr. Benjamin Crow. Classes are on Saturday at 12 PM in the Social Hall. Please register with Fr. Benjamin. The first class is September 27th.
CGS is a Montessori style teaching program coupled with specific materials centered around the life of Christ, biblical stories and parables and biblical history. Registration will be required and the schedule for CGS will be announced soon. CGS classes will follow the 10 AM Divine Liturgy on Sundays.
